Blackrock Judo began as a community based Judo program largely comprised of the Idaho State University Judo team members along with community members over 25 years ago. The Idaho State University Judo Club was founded circa 1967 by Sensei William Honjiyo of the Hanapepe Judo Club. After Sensei Honjiyo, Sensei Sami Tadehara lead the ISU Judo team and continued to do so until the University recently cut many experimental education programs including Judo. Today Sensei Tadehara advises Blackrock Judo Club.

We still aim to provide excellent instruction and training in Kodokan Judo. Today we still offer amazing Judo programs for youth and adults!
